Information Architecture

In this session, we will delve into the contemporary approaches to information architecture. Students will learn what Information Architecture is and why it is important. We will cover topics such as different information structures, navigation, labeling, and interactions of a website or application. Students will leave with an understanding of Information Architecture design process, including creation of sitemaps, flowcharts, wireframes, and prototypes.

  • Understand the objectives, functions and applications of information architectures in a variety of environments

  • Be able to build a simple, understandable information architecture

  • Become familiar with information architecture best practices

Your Instructor

Staša Milojević

Professor of Informatics, Indiana University

Staša Milojević is a Professor of Informatics in the Center for Complex Network and Systems Research and a Grant Thornton Scholar in the Luddy School of Informatics, Computing at Indiana University, Bloomington. Her work covers a range of topics within the "science of science": dynamics of research teams, collaborative networks, formation and evolution of sceintific fields, and research metrics. She received a PhD in Information Studies from the University of California, Los Angeles.
