Making Digital Resources Available to All

In this session, we will delve into accessibility and its connections to digital resources. Students will learn the importance of accessibility to their user groups, what to consider when reviewing materials and creating content, and how to practically apply these considerations. Students will leave with an understanding of accessible content principles and which tools are best for including accessibility into their day to day work. By digging into WCAG concepts and inclusive design, the workshop will demonstrate how accessibility benefits everyone and help students realize this benefit for their users.

Kelly Farrell

Project Manager for Prime Access Consulting

Kelly Farrell is a Project Manager for Prime Access Consulting (PAC) focused on web and digital accessibility. She collaborates with a team of accessibility experts to guide a wide spectrum of clients to build accessible web experiences. Before working at PAC, she earned an MA in Library and Information Science from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, after which she served a number of roles in libraries before her current role at PAC. On the side, she enjoys quilting and DIY house projects.
