Making digital resources available to all

In this session, we will delve into accessibility and its connections to digital resources. Students will learn the importance of accessibility to their user groups, what to consider when reviewing materials and creating content, and how to practically apply these considerations. Students will leave with an understanding of accessible content principles and which tools are best for including accessibility into their day to day work. By digging into WCAG concepts and inclusive design, the workshop will demonstrate how accessibility benefits everyone and help students realize this benefit for their users.

Lauren Trimble

Senior Accessibility Specialist, Thomson Reuters

Lauren Trimble is a Senior Accessibility Specialist at Thomson Reuters, where she works with designers and developers to build accessible concepts into a suite of digital tax products. She’s also a web accessibility expert (IAAP certified CPACC) with an emphasis in civic technology. She moonlights as an election official and has worked with the State of Michigan to conduct more accessible elections. She has an MA in both Information (University of Michigan) and Creative writing (University of London). She enjoys reading science fiction and playing fetch with her corgi.
