Coming by Train?  The closest Amtrak Station is in Durham, about 17 miles from Chapel Hill.  From Durham you can take TTA Bus No. 400 from the station to the UNC Campus.  It takes about an hour and costs $2.25.

Driving?  Directions to UNC Visitor’s Center (central campus)

Campus parking is in high demand and short supply. We are not able to supply campus parking permits and recommend that visitors park in Chapel Hill city garages. The Wallace Deck on Franklin Street (lot 18 on the map) offers parking near campus for $1.50/hour or $7 flat fee for day if you arrive before 9 am and leave after 6 pm.  The 140 West Parking Garage (lot 10 on the map) is another parking option near campus.  For more information on city parking options, visit the Park on the Hill site.
